# Install the restaurant POS without the Play Store

SpoonCub is a phone-browser app. Add it to the home screen. There is no Play Store listing and no APK for the floor.

Buying a restaurant app often means a Play Store login, an update that breaks at 8pm, or a vendor file you do not trust. Small teams should not run that gauntlet.

SpoonCub's staff app is a **PWA**. Open it in the phone browser, add it to the home screen, and use it like an app. The same product runs in a desktop browser if the owner wants a bigger view.

# What that means in practice

- No store listing to wait on

- After email verification you have a restaurant code and the Owner username owner

- On Android, use Install app from the browser menu, or the install button when the phone offers it

- On iPhone, open the staff app in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, then Add

- The device PIN still works on the installed icon

- It is not a diner-facing store app

If a waiter's phone is restricted, use another handset. The restaurant is the account, not the phone.
